One (one, also called unit and unity), is a number and a numeric digit used to represent that number in digits. It represents a single unit, a unit of count or measurement.

As a number, sometimes referred to as "**unity**", is the first non-zero natural number. Thus, it is an integer after zero.

Any number multiplied by one remains that number, because one is the identity of multiplication. As a result, 1 is its own factor, it has its own square and square root, it has its own cube and cube root, and so on.

In mathematics, the number one represents a single unit, quantity, or value of one. The sum of all numbers between 0 and 2 is one. The name of the number 1 is "**one**."

Dimensionless quantities are also known as dimensionless quantities. 1 is the atomic number of hydrogen. +1 Positron and protons have an electric charge. Alkali metals are in group 1 of the periodic table. Period 1 of the periodic table includes only two elements: hydrogen and helium. The dwarf planet Ceres has the minor-planet designation 1 Ceres because it was the first asteroid to be discovered.

The One is the ultimate reality and source of all existence. Philo of Alexandria (20 BC–AD 50) regarded the number one as God's number and the basis for all numbers ("De Allegoriis Legum," ii.12 [i.66]).

A binary code is a sequence of 1's and 0's used to represent any type of data on a computer. In many physical devices, 1 represents the value of "on," which means electricity is flowing. The numeric value of "True" in many programming languages 1 is the ASCII code for "Start of Header".

In games, the number 1 is awarded to the player who is first or leading in a case, or is otherwise important. The number is printed on his sports uniform or equipment.
